I have about 15 years hiking experience in solo hikings as well in goups. Both daytrips and multiday long distance trekkings in remote area's.
My passion for hiking started in the 90's of the previous century when I visited Scotland and Norway a lot with the Netherlands Navy. Often in the weekend I went into the mountains with some friends.
What I enjoy, especially in remote area's, is the feeling to be 'one' with nature. To experience the true nature and the elements. To be there is for me the ultimate way to relax and think.
After my Naval career I continued hiking, most of the time solo. My last trip was with my son. I hope to be able to make more trips together with him.
